Happy Pi Day
Yey it's fake Pi Day. That's because we are British and as such we write today's date as 14.3.12 not 3.14 which as everyone know's is Pi.
It is also the birthday of Origami according to google... so I'm going back to folding paper planes

The mafia wedding...
Saffy and Becca are planning their wedding, it's going to be at the airshow so we're going for a camo theme a bit like this:
or maybe
or even
Although I'm not sure about the merits of squashing Saffy with a picture frame
She's going to look awesome on top of the B52....
Although the schizophrenic helicopter plane is going to be there aka the Osprey so maybe we should use that...
Obviously the bridesmaids are going to wear flight suits
And the all important Aviators:

Sock Animals -With Becca
It all started last year when I (Becca) was given a make your own sock bunny kit. That's how the interest started. I needed a quick easy sew it yourself project to use at the clothiers guild sessions. Sock bunnies were the way forward. So we made an army:
Then for Christmas this year my sister brought me a book - how to make more sock animals http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/160061907X/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0297853473&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1BTX97SGBE5V8Q323KGX
The only problem is that you're supposed to use stray socks or unpaired socks. But any good mafia member knows you don't wear pairs of socks so that you don't limit your wardrobe. So I have to keep going out and buying new socks. (Be wary no sock is safe!!)
So armed with a pile of socks and a duvet I got to making some. To start with the Cheshire Cat
It all starts with a head |
And a body |
Sew it all together and add eyes mouth and a button nose |
Cheeky Kitteh |
And then using a baby sock I made a squirrel for my mother
But the adventure isn't over yet..... I have many more socks and things to sew... watch this space.

Tales from the travelling Mafia - Here St Andrews is worse than Dairsie FACT!
So my title kinda says it all that was learnt by the coach journey today. I'm going on a mission to get a book tomorrow so we can have a NZ edition of out mafia book.
Had an awesome host at the B&B I stayed in last night who gave me a tour of Christchurch although most of it is still very much earthquake damaged. There are lots of buildings that have just been left as was after the earthquake including a restaurant where all the place settings were left! Was rather eerie in its own way. Most of the shops now are in shipping containers in an area known as the pop up mall it's actually kind of cool in looking forward to going on another look when I'm back there and to see the recycled stuff fashion. Will give me new project ideas!
Here are some pictures from the very bumpy flight into New Zealand which reminds me YouTube air new Zealand inflight safety video it's hilarious, that one totally took me by surprise.
Miss you all

Tales from a travelling mafia...I have no idea just lots of planes
Hello!!!
I'm currently in Sydney. You may ask what am I doing here! Well here goes.
As Jacks knows at 10:30 on Tuesday I was sat on the tarmac at Heathrow with plane problems. 2 hours later we take off. Now my connection time in Singapore was an hour so guess what I missed my plane. So in order to not give us hotel funds for the night they decided to reroute us through Sydney to get the 7:30am local plane to Christchurch. So... We were rushed through Singapore to the Sydney flight but that was then delayed while they moved the bags across so we were late to Sydney and missed that connection. Too so now I'm here in Australia will have to send you extra postcard abuse! And now for some photos.
The only compensation is that I'm sat in the business lounge with free Gin!!!!
